Rules for True Spl
All competitors that have a spl level 140+db must have ear protection! no exceptions. It is also recomended that any competitor over a 150+db sealed compete outside the vehicle.
Sensor Placement: For Sound Off Classes the sensor will be placed depending on Class.
CD\ Audio: Any CD of audible format is acceptable.
RPM: RPM limit is 2000 or Under.
Battery\ Charging System: All must use 12 volt batteries and 12 volt charging system. With the exception of the extreme classes that has no limits.
Power Wheels: 1 Rule have fun! Based on age of child (2&5), (6-9), (10-12).
No Wall: Class Unlimited amps, voltage and inches.
Walled: Class Unlimited amps, voltage and inches.
Both Walled and No Wall Classes will be determined by the judges whether your vehicle qualifies for this class.
Outlaw: Class Meter will be placed on floor; driver’s door opened completely and may not be moved during the competitors run. This is a run what you brung class and is unlimited.
Door Slammer: Class meter will be placed on floor and competitor can open and close door at will. This is a 12v system class.
Triple Crown: Class is a combination score of three runs. The first is a SPL meter on the dash sealed. The second is an outlaw class style run. And the third is a 30 sec average on music. All three score will be averaged together for a final score. The competitor must play music no tones allowed in the third round. The competitor must complete all three runs without leave the lane and will only have 2 mins between each round.
Auto exhaust: (4 to 6 Cyl, 8& Up Cyl open header and same for muffler system 4 classes in all) There are 4 classes 2 for each open header and muffler system. Meter placement, end of stick will be placed at exhaust and then placed on ground Judge will hold foot on meter in the standing position to protect the judge.
Air Horn: Meter placement, end of stick will be placed at exhaust and then placed on ground Judge will hold foot on meter in the standing position to protect the judge.
Port Off All: Meter placement, Meter will be put in the port that the meter will fit. Meter will be put into the box as far in as the judge can go.
Judge has final SAY in anything.
Guidelines
The following details some of the general guidelines and responsibilities that competitors should follow when attending a True SPL event.
TIMELINESS -
Be on time to a competition. Event promoters set schedules for judging times, competitor meetings and activities throughout the day. When a competitor arrives late, it upsets this schedule and event timing is compromised. If a competitor is unable to make it to the event at the specified time, they should call the event promoter and notify them of their situation as not to delay the event.
HAVE YOUR VEHICLE READY IN ADVANCE -
Tuning, cleaning, working on and/or testing your vehicle should be done prior to the event.
SHOW OFF YOUR CAR -
Locking it up and/or covering it to keep it. The whole idea behind these events is to show the public what we can do; if you hide it, they‘ll never know.
ASK QUESTIONS! -
Never be afraid to ask questions; even by competing, you are asking a True SPL Certified Judge to evaluate your vehicle and they are trained professionals who will give your vehicle a thorough evaluation. Don‘t be afraid to ask them to share their thoughts with you; True SPL judges are always happy to assist competitors to improve their systems. Use their knowledge to help you improve and soon your system will be performing to its maximum potential.
BE FRIENDLY AND LISTEN! -
Don‘t be afraid to ask fellow competitors if you can listen to their vehicles. Most competitors are passionate about their vehicles and will be more than happy to show off their vehicles.
COMPETITOR GUIDELINES -
Please conduct yourself in a proper and professional manner when attending/competing at a True SPL event. Using foul or abusive language (especially in front of children, possession or use of controlled substances, lewd behavior and/or displaying or playing obscene videos, pictures or music will not be tolerated and could lead to reprimands and/or disqualification from the event. True SPL events are designed to be family oriented; when you are competing at a True SPL event.
Firearms of any sort at a True SPL event are strictly forbidden; the only people allowed to carry firearms at an event are police and military personnel. Anyone caught carrying firearms at an event (other than police and military personnel) will be immediately disqualified and removed from the event venue.
